We amassed quite a collection of brio track and trains. He knew all of the trains by name and could recite dialogue from the Thomas videos. He watched the videos over and over again.
P.’s interests shift over time, but he almost always has a current obsessive interest. He has moved from Thomas and trains, to dinosaurs, to pokemon, to animals and conservation.
Bathtime was a struggle. If the water was anything less than tepid, he would scream that it was burning him. He only ate food at room temperature. He would often gag and vomit food he didn’t like the taste or smell of.
When P. was 2 1/2, his little brother was born. We began to see a dramatic increase in tantrums and acting out which we ascribed to sibling rivalry, but in retrospect was probably more due to the upset of his treasured routines in the household. These years were very difficult ones in the life of our family.
